Project details

1 Formulation of operational management requirements to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation

Examine and formulate draft operational management requirements necessary for Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation by implementing risk management in Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation and considering feedback systems for safe operation based on accumulated operational data.

2 Formulation of aircraft requirements to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation

Examine and formulate draft aircraft requirements necessary for Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation by developing and demonstrating a multi-UAS operation simulator and verifying edge AI technology as an alternative to constant camera monitoring.

3 Formulation of system/communication requirements to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation

On the assumption that system displays and operational procedures are switched in response to changes in multiple conditions, including flight status, ground risk, ground areas, and radio coverage quality, draft system and communications requirements to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation shall be examined and formulated.

4 Demonstration of Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation in logistics use cases (up to Category III)

A demonstration of Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation is conducted, assuming logistics use cases. The actual data obtained from the demonstration is utilized to verify the requirements necessary to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation.

5 Demonstration of Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation in surveillance use cases (up to Category II)

A demonstration of Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation is conducted, assuming surveillance use cases. The actual data obtained from the demonstration is utilized to verify the requirements necessary to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation.

Final Goal (FY2026)

  • Proposal of draft requirements for framework design to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation (six or more) in Level 3 or 3.5 flights, where continuous monitoring of camera footage by humans is partially replaced by a system.
  • Proposal of draft requirements for system design to enable Simultaneous Multi-UAS Operation (six or more) in Level 4 flights.
